In an effort to keep trolls out of Columbia Park local authorities have decided to remove all the playground equipment. And since the creeps have moved to the Duck Pond it looks like that equipment will be removed sometime in the near future.
"If there's no place for kids to play then the underage solicitation will stop," says some uninformed local official.
Neighbors in both parts of the city say they wish police would move those meet ups to Wal-Mart's parking lot or "at least to that big grassy area under Interstate 20 near downtown..."

Nah, I'm being snarky. I did see where at Columbia all the equipment had been removed. I'm sure its just scheduled for new equipment.
But I tell you what, I really do wish the police would arrange their meet ups (when they do their underage internet sex solicitation) somewhere else. I'm tired of hearing my neighborhood park being connected with these pervs. I think it's giving folks ideas. And now they've moved on to the Duck Pond. Wonder how those folks over there will put up with it?
It's all so creepy. Next thing you know they'll be arranging to meet these pervs at area schools. I mean really what's the difference in meeting at a school or a park?
I hear ya. I just had a flash while watching Comedy Central's "The Soup." The SPD could keep the pervs out of the park by renting a house and arranging their meet ups there like they do in NBC's "To Catch a Predator." Rent a motel room. Something. Just leave the parks alone. It's all about karma.
