It's time for a dog park in SB Land. If it's good enough for Baton Rouge, Houston, Fort Smith and Austin, than we ought to have a couple.

RRBJ thinks a little one could go where the old volleyball net used to be set up in Columbia Park. There's always Betty Virginia but it's so over used as it is now. The duck pond on East Kings Highway might work. Click here for other major and neighborhood parks to consider.

Thank you to Karen LeCroy for use of her lovely shot of Calli at the Fountain.

Here, here! We couldn't live without our dog parks here in Austin. Our city provides plastic poop pick-up bag dispensers in all the parks, which are also much appreciated. We even have a few al fresco coffee shops that provide water bowls and dog biscuits for our german shephard, who is very much into the coffee house scene:-) In Shreveport, Columbia Park would be perfect for SB's first Pooch Park. Great job on the Blog Jam, Kathryn! It's my favorite S'port website!

Jay -- Thanks for stopping by. I've added your blog to my daily read list. Here's hoping we can get a dog park and some more pet friendly places. I understand San Francisco is the bet place for dogs.

There was someone at the last Krewe of Barkus & Meoux Parade (the best parade) getting folks to sign a petition for a dog park. Not sure what came of it. I'm all for it! Cynthia Keith
