Handles Go Towards the House

Cool video from The Shreveport Times on the new blue recycling bins. Highlanders get to put those containers to work tomorrow. The big questions are can you keep folks from parking in front of your bin? And will the automated truck plan work?

TUESDAY UPDATE: City officials are tickled over the response. Early numbers show 70 percent of the 17,000 southeast Shreveporters who got carts set them out. The city expected 30 percent to 50 percent.

THURSDAY UPDATE: My recycling got picked up Tuesday night at 7:10 p.m. I have pictures (I'm a goober) I'll post in a day or two. I did notice they were still picking up stuff Wednesday. Don't know about today.

Deb - pick-up is every Monday for those of us in Highland and regular Monday trash pick-up area.
