Remember the Reason for the Season

Rudolph's Nose
War on Christmas? Please. KTBS and CW 21 KPXJ we don't care what you say as long as you are polite about it. For the record, we say Feliz Navidad around here.

P.S. The reason for the season? Shopping. This is America where spending will save the world. Reverend Billy does not agree with that statement.

Bossier City Best for Kids?

Diary of a Bossier Kid
Business Week says Bossier City is the best place to raise you kids in Louisiana. We quote it "is across the Red River from Shreveport." And that is why we had to draw this cartoon.

Party in Da Streets!

Movies, Mardi Gras

Believe it or not it's not too late to join a Krewe this year. Blanc et Noir is very affordable and wants you!

Krewe of Centaur Parade is this Saturday at 4:30 p.m. Krewe of Barkus and Meoux Parade is Sunday afternoon at the Riverview Park near the Barnwell Center. Krewe of Gemini is a week from Saturday on February 2 at 4:30 p.m.

The best parade rolls though the historic part of town on Sunday, February 3. The Krewe of Highland gets ta steppin' at 2 p.m. For more about SB Land Mardi Gras click here.

Hey remember the outhouse parade last year at RRBJ? Ahh, good times.

No More Swings Means No More Pedophiles

Scooping up Pedophiles in Columbia Park

In an effort to keep trolls out of Columbia Park local authorities have decided to remove all the playground equipment. And since the creeps have moved to the Duck Pond it looks like that equipment will be removed sometime in the near future.

"If there's no place for kids to play then the underage solicitation will stop," says some uninformed local official.

Neighbors in both parts of the city say they wish police would move those meet ups to Wal-Mart's parking lot or "at least to that big grassy area under Interstate 20 near downtown..."

Poo-rade Photo Essay

Poo-radePoo-radePoo-radePoo-radePoo-radePoo-radePoo-radePoo-radePoo-radePoo-radePoo-radePoo-radePoo-radePoo-radePoo-radePoo-radePoo-rade

Hey! Throw me something, Mister! On second thought, maybe not...

All types of Mardi Gras parades roll through Shreveport but this one is a little different. It's a photo essay of the portable toilets that line the parade route used by the two big Krewes, Centaur and Gemini. You'll find them along Clyde Fant Parkway, Shreveport Barksdale Highway and East Kings Highway.

On the bright side -- they don't reek. Red River Blog Jam got close for some of these pics and not a single fetid odor did we sniff. Perhaps the malodorous rendering plant could use a couple of these to contain their stink.
